Whitby Harbour, North Yorkshire

Whitby is famous for the best fish and chips in the world, and many restaurants across the UK use Whitby Cod and Haddock. On the front you can see Trenchers, one of the town's best purveyors of Whitby fish. To the right of this you can look across to the town's East Cliff and St. Mary's Church. Whitby's Swing Bridge is just hidden from view behind the crows of tourist on the harbour front. The large post is a crow's nest monument to Whitby's port heritage. To the immediate right of this you can just make out Whitby Abbey managed today by English Heritage. To the left of the station is the Co-op supermarket and the large pavilion to the left of this is the town's Tourist Information Centre.
